Larysa Kelembet shows respect, genuineness and empathy to help her clients feel accepted and prepared to trust in the therapy process. She aims to enable clients to explore their issues and take actions in order to bring positive changes into their lives. The therapies she uses refer to human optimisation, health promotion, prevention of clinical problems and treatment of mental disorders and other clinical conditions. Her main aim is to enable a positive approach to the underlying belief system of clients which leads to a longer and happier life. Clients are provided with self-help techniques and taught skills that enable them to cope in the long-term future.
Having had a teaching background, Larysa is interested in psychoeducation which helps clients understand their issues better. She educates clients on healthier ways of managing their emotions and feelings. She has also worked as a Health Care Assistant with Depression, PTSD, Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders patients. She has an understanding of the complexities of these illnesses and the difficulties patients are going through in the processes of treatment and recovery. She works on identifying irrational thinking patterns and destructive coping strategies and gradually replacing them with helpful ones.
Larysa Kelembet is working towards an Advanced Diploma in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy / Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has an MSc Psychology degree, and she is trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She is a member of British Psychological Society and National Counselling Society. As a therapist, she uses approaches that best suits clients and their individual needs. She works with The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
