Laura creates a safe space in her work with clients, in which you can explore and express your thoughts, feelings and emotions from your perspective without the fear of judgement or rejection. Counselling can help you gain a deeper understanding of your concerns and can help raise self-awareness. It can empower you to make better choices and accept who you are.
With a background as an ESOL teacher, Laura has experience in working with anxious individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Originally from Hungary, she understands the challenges around adapting to a new culture and starting a new life. Laura specialises in anxiety, life transitions, loneliness, self-esteem and has a special interest in raising awareness of being a highly sensitive person and how to cope with the challenges of this.
Laura is currently working towards a diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and uses person-centred and psychodynamic approaches in her client work. The former focuses on creating a trusting relationship between the counsellor and client in the present, while the latter looks at how past experiences may unconsciously impact on you today.
Laura is an integrative counsellor and is a student member of the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting. She offers therapy in English and Hungarian.
