Underpinning Laura Evans’s work is a belief that being listened to – with empathy, without judgment and as a unique individual – can be transformative. Clients may find it becomes easier to listen to themselves; not only to difficult thoughts and feelings, but also to their own innate and individual potential. With this new awareness, change may be possible. Laura is able to draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to support this listening, tailored to the individual.
Laura has experience working with a range of clients, including those experiencing isolation and loneliness, relationship and family issues, low self-esteem and depression. Laura’s background as a City lawyer has given her an understanding of the challenges and potential consequences for the individual of working in a high-pressure environment, including numerous ways in which stress and anxiety can manifest.
Laura is training as a transpersonal integrative psychotherapist and is a trainee member of the UKCP. She holds a Certificate in the Foundations of Counselling and Psychotherapy and is working towards a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Laura offers therapy on an open-ended basis and works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
