Lauren Bell’s therapeutic approach is Humanistic and is focused on Person Centred Counselling. It is an empathic approach that can empower and motivate the client towards achieving their desired potential. This type of therapy means that you, as the client, are respected as the expert on your own thoughts, feelings and life experiences and Lauren as your counsellor is there to guide and facilitate your journey of self-exploration. Lauren understands that therapy can sometimes be a daunting experience and she looks to provide a warm, caring and understanding space, in which you can feel heard and are safe to explore what matters to you most. She believes that through self-exploration, Person Centred Counselling can allow you to recognise your own capacity for personal growth and self-healing.

Before starting her journey to become a counsellor, Lauren studied at Lancaster University and achieved a degree in Philosophy. She has since had exposure to a variety of different workplace cultures and environments, having worked in the corporate sector for 7 years within the advertising industry and since within the public sector, where she is currently working for a mental health charity.

Lauren is a Person Centred Counsellor working towards her Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). She is also a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and she works in accordance to their ethical framework. She is based at The Awareness Centre in Clapham, where she works part-time within their Low Cost Counselling Service as a trainee Counsellor, as part of her placement towards her Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
