Léann Lavery is a qualified counsellor, supporting people dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, anger, suicidal feelings, bereavement and loss. Believing that we all need human connection, she considers the relationship between client and therapist to be the most important aspect of counselling. Léann provides a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space where your healing is supported. She focuses on helping you to better understand your current and past feelings and behaviours, and to also recognise negative patterns that may be affecting how you live your life. This will support you as you find new ways of living and develop more fulfilling relationships.
As an integrative therapist Léann draws on a range of theories – including psychodynamic, existential, and humanistic – and she tailors how she works depending on your needs and aims. She believes our bodies often hold difficult and painful emotions, and she integrates the mind, body and soul in her approach to help facilitate change and work through these emotions. With a background in marketing and PR from different sectors such as charity, television, and higher education, Léann brings this experience into her therapeutic stance where she works creatively with her clients.
Léann has many years’ of experience of working long-term and short-term with clients in a variety of settings, including the NHS. She is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a divisional member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), she is working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy.
