Lisa Mainz Goldsmith
Lisa Mainz Goldsmith is an integrative counsellor who studied in the USA completing a post graduate diploma in bereavement counselling, with a focus in Gestalt psychotherapy. Lisa will treat the client with empathy and understanding and work together with to help resolve any issues and difficult feelings. Lisa’s approach is tailored to each individual person and their unique needs using appropriate types of therapy for the circumstances. She works with The Awareness Centre’s NHS service in a GP surgery in Lambeth.
Lisa’s approach is underpinned by her belief that the key to effective therapy is building a strong relationship with the client, based on trust and mutual respect. She works with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement and other losses, stress, trauma, shame and challenging life events as well as those with suicidal thoughts. She believes therapy can facilitate people accessing their full potential by helping them become more authentic about who they are.
Lisa has a background in Oncology nursing and has experience with the dynamics of being a carer as well as how it feels to be the patient. She has run her own design business giving her insight into the creative business world. Having lived in different countries she has experience and knowledge of a range of cultures and greatly values diversity of backgrounds and experiences. Lisa will provide an empathetic, confidential and safe space in which the client can talk openly and honestly about their difficulties.
