Ljubica Ivanovic provides warmth, insight and empathy in her work with clients encouraging them to explore the issues that they may be struggling with. Ljubica supports her clients in expressing their private thoughts and feelings without the risk of judgement. She practices in a flexible manner using appropriate and suitable therapeutic models including psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapies.
Her focus is on trust and development of the therapeutic alliance with the client as well as the collaborative aspect of their work. Ljubica demonstrates empathy and acceptance at all times. She is respectful of the clients’ differences and beliefs while showing sensitivity towards their cultural needs and values. She aims to help the clients recognise their inner strength and build up their emotional resilience so the client starts to feel a change in the quality of their life and relationships.
With her background in education, mental health services and hospital administration Ljubica has developed a greater understanding of stress, work-related issues and life-work boundaries. She has also worked with young adults and she has significant experience of volunteering with MIND. Through this role she has gained a deeper insight into the stigma attached to mental ill health and its detrimental impact on people with mental health problems. She has an interest and significant experience of working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem and loss.
