Lucinda Dharmasena

Lucinda Dharmasena is a Gestalt counsellor and qualified Coach with a MSc in Psychology. Lucinda provides a safe space for a client to be truly heard and understood. She practices Gestalt psychology – a relational approach focusing on raising awareness of felt emotional states and its physical embodiment. This approach supports emotional growth and understanding of self via increasing awareness. It paves the way to more meaningful contact and enriched living. Lucinda encourages you to be curious about what you are currently aware of and how this presents itself without attaching judgement. You will be invited to be pay attention to your words, breath, tone and physical state – your full experience to give more detail to your thoughts, actions and patterns that may block self-awareness and potential. Everyone has a unique model of the world which provides a ‘way of being’. Greater awareness of these states provides scope for self-understanding and compassion providing space for new insights and development of potential.

Lucinda has over 20 years’ experience in working with clients on a 1:1 basis in executive coaching and specialises in emotional intelligence – understanding and identifying emotion to maximise communication and ability to self-regulate. Working with companies for over twenty years demonstrates her dedication to providing a professional service which is focused on the wellbeing of the client. Within the corporate setting she has seen an increased disconnect from mind and body and has found the skills learnt from Gestalt therapy invaluable in incorporating the whole providing a sense of well-being.

She is currently in her final year of a Gestalt Counselling diploma. She is empathetic and deeply respectful of difference within individuals experience and circumstances. Her expertise incorporates areas of stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-regulation and mindfulness. She is registered with the BACP and works with the Awareness Centre in Sutton.
