Luiza Neumayer is empathetic, warm, kind and insightful. She provides a welcoming, safe environment for her clients to talk with her. It is important to Luiza to build a strong and trusting working with her clients – so that they’ll feel safe to open up and feel willing and empowered to consider make the changes during the therapeutic process. Luiza’s way of working is connected and reflective: which means difficult emotions and traumatic life experiences can be processed together, in a deeply personal but highly professional way. This helps clients integrate and consolidate new healing experiences. Luiza takes care to understand each client’s own individual circumstances & psychological situation, so that she can tailors her work according to her clients’ own specific needs.
Luiza is chartered psychologist and also qualified in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy, working with adults, couples and parents. Before her training, Luiza ran a charity, working with children diagnosed with disabilities from autism spectrum. The therapeutic relationships she built with children, as well with their parents, helped Luiza develop a great sense of patience, perseverance and belief in the human capacity to heal. She immersed herself in her own lengthy personal therapy and is continuously engaged in professional development – including in Jungian psychodynamic psychotherapy; Systemic Family Therapy; Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples; Circle of Security training for parents; AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy); “Baby Brains” psychoeducation programme for mothers; Brain Stem Relational Therapy for Trauma. All of these approaches enhance Luiza’s expertise in working with a full range of difficulties for adults, including anxiety, depression, isolation, trauma (adults), loss as well as with disruptive/dysfunctional couples and families.
Luiza is a Chartered psychologist, registered with British Psychological Society and a member of BACP; and is qualified & registered as a Jungian Psychotherapist with the Romanian Association of Analytical Psychotherapy. Luiza is also an EFT Therapist and a member of ICEEFT and of BEFT Community, the British Emotionally Focused Therapy Community, as well as undertaking additional training as an AEDP Therapist. She sees patients for The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Wandsworth.
