  • Self-Esteem

Lulu offers an empathic, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can feel safe enough to talk about what’s on their mind.   As a humanistic psychotherapist Lulu believes individuals search to make meaning of their lives, wish to feel valued and accepted for who they truly are, connect with others, and that change is possible.  Lulu has a relational approach, which means she values the therapeutic relationship as a place for the client to feel heard and seen, and as a means for gaining insight into patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour.  Lulu’s psychotherapy training included a broad range of approaches which she draws upon depending on the client’s unique needs and presentation.  She uses her skills and experience to support clients to explore their thoughts, behaviours and feelings to develop self-awareness, challenge long held beliefs, see things from a different perspective and make choices which are more aligned with innate needs.  Lulu works with the clients’ experiences in the moment and will at times explore the client’s bodily sensations to increase self-awareness and develop a mind and body connection.

Lulu’s background was in the corporate world and she retrained as a Montessori teacher after becoming a parent.  Her personal values of respect, curiosity, integrity, kindness, trustworthiness, and her belief in the possibility of enhancing an individuals’ wellbeing and of growth, were reflected in the Montessori philosophy and now her humanistic philosophy.  Lulu’s background has influenced the way she works in terms of her interest in childhood experiences and relationships, and the impact of these on development of thoughts, feelings and behaviours.  She works with a range or presentations including individuals struggling with life transitions such as parenting, separation/divorce, menopause, retirement and experiences of difficulties in relationships, struggling to find self-confidence or sense of worth, feeling anxious, depressed or feeling stuck.

Lulu is a humanistic psychotherapist working in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham.  She has a MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy and is registered with the UKCP and is a registered member of BACP.  Lulu’s humanistic training included person-centred, gestalt and transactional analysis approaches.
