Mark offers a calm, holding and empathic space in which clients can create awareness and understanding of the feelings and emotions that hold them back and block personal growth.  His holistic, relational and non-judgemental approach provides an environment for his clients to explore the here-and-now challenges of life and reflect on them in the context of their full life experience.

As an Integrative counsellor Mark draws on a number of approaches and sessions are tailored to the needs of each individual client. This may include psychodynamic techniques to explore how childhood memories and experiences impact relationships today; humanistic techniques to focus on living a fuller, more actualised life; or existential techniques to explore our individual purpose and meaning. Ultimately, he believes strongly in the values of autonomy, choice & responsibility and holds that we all have the internal resources to find solutions that can lead to meaningful change.

Prior to therapy training Mark had a career in advertising and marketing and has worked as a personal development coach. He understands the pressures that come from balancing personal and professional life and how these pressures can impact our mental health through anxiety, low self-esteem, reduced confidence, relationship challenges, lack of purpose and many other intense feelings and emotions. He recognises that coming to therapy, particularly for the first time, can be a daunting experience and provides a safe, warm and confidential space for clients to explore the difficult moments and challenges they are experiencing in life.

Mark is a trainee therapist and student member of the BACP. He is working towards his Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
