Matthew Banks believes every client can achieve positive change through counselling. He provides a compassionate, confidential, and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Together they will develop an understanding of how pain and stress can be alleviated, identify how difficult life changes can be negotiated, and work toward positive and meaningful change. Matthew practices an Integrative approach, using different methods of working designed for each client’s specific needs. These methods include, a humanistic person-centred approach, the psychodynamic approach, and CBT. Matthew believes that a range of methods are necessary to meet the unique and individual needs of each client.
Matthew has a background in managing Critical National Infrastructure projects. He understands the emotions that can arise and times of stress, and the questions individuals ask themselves when life becomes difficult.
Matthew is an Integrative trainee counsellor working towards an advanced diploma in Integrative counselling. Matthew is a member of the BACP and is studying with a CPCAB certified training centre. He works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting.
