Melania Leanza works with The Awareness Centre’s Low-Cost patients at the Clapham branch as a trainee. She is currently working towards a Diploma in Therapeutic Integrative Counselling. Her primary goal is to provide a safe and empathetic environment for people to talk about their concerns, where the client can feel valued, appreciated and understood; this can be a significant start for the client where to begin his/her own journey She strongly believes that through the therapeutic relationship clients experience both trust and respect towards their feelings, enabling them to feel safe while exploring any issues they may have. Melania also believes that the therapeutic relationship stands at the base of the client’s healing process. During the counselling session Melania works with the client in order to create the right environment where the client can feel valued, appreciated and understood; this can be a significant start for the client where to begin his/her own journey.
Her aim is to help those in need have both clarity and when appropriate consider alternative viewpoints. She prides herself on being supportive and understanding throughout the process allowing her clients to achieve their best potential. Melania has an integrative approach allowing her to meet her client’s needs by using many different techniques depending on the clients presenting issues and individual personalities.
Melania’s background as a body work therapist has led her to have a high level of understanding of the connection between mind and body and the way that emotional issues can negatively impact on our lives. Her goal is to identify negative behaviour patterns that individuals have the ability to change. Throughout her working life she has been involved in promoting positive change and growth. Melania is Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). She is bound by and adheres to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
