Nariman Al-Aloosi is currently studying for a Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. Nariman works on an open-ended basis within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service. She can offer therapy in English and Arabic.
Nariman believes that each individual is unique which is why she, an integrative counsellor, uses a non-directive, person-centered approach. This encourages clients to fulfil their own potential and find their inner power to explore their feelings, improve themselves and help them find their own way to overcome their difficulties, facing different challenges of their lives. Nariman uses CBT to help individuals to change their negative feelings and improve their state of mind in order to positively change their lives. As well as this, psychosexual therapy is used to help couples who are experiencing problems. This aims to prevent such problems from escalating, and consequently protects couples and their children from any negative impact that could otherwise arise. Nariman welcomes her clients in an empathic, non-judgmental, supportive space where she believes that trust between counsellor and client is key for a positive counselling experience.
With a background as an architect, Nariman has gained key skills in time management and responsibility. She also approaches things systemically and logically. Additionally, Nariman worked as a project coordinator with a humanitarian organization that deals with refugees. Nariman is immensely passionate about helping people face every aspect of their lives and deal with adverse situations in order to better their lives and subsequently the quality of those lives. Nariman works to identify healthier coping strategies to help people manage the stress and anxiety in their lives.
