Nathan Claxton is a Psychotherapist and Counsellor. He has a MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, and is working towards a Diploma in Integrative Supervision. He is a registered member of the BACP and accredited member of the UKCP. Nathan works privately as a Psychotherapist in different London locations. Prior to working full-time as a Psychotherapist, he was a Team Leader for The Awareness Centre.
Typical issues Nathan has supported clients with include depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem/confidence, feeling isolated, childhood abuse/trauma, bereavement & loss, gender identity concerns, and self-harming/destructive behaviours (including substance misuse).
Nathan supervises placement therapists at The Awareness Centre supporting them with open-ended and NHS short-term counselling. Nathan has trained in Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy and Counselling for Depression, that he uses alongside his primary trainings to deliver his supervision work.
