Nefeli Vlahopulos
Nefeli is a warm and empathetic therapist dedicated to creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. While counselling aids clients in processing challenging or painful thoughts and feelings, she also believes in therapy’s potential to highlight her clients’ strengths. She collaborates with them to identify and harness their inner resources, empowering them to lead a fuller, more satisfying life. Nefeli tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs by using various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is currently undergoing training in existential therapy using the phenomenological method, which involves deeply exploring the client’s lived experiences to understand their unique worldview and address the root causes of their distress.
Nefeli’s expertise extends to working in the NHS with individuals that are neurodivergent and she has developed a deep understanding of neurodiversity and its impact on mental health. She specialises in trauma, anxiety, and life transitions, helping clients gain insights into their issues and fostering a deeper understanding of themselves, promoting healing and empowerment.
In addition to her counselling experience, Nefeli has a background in education, supporting children with learning and emotional needs. This blend of educational and therapeutic expertise enables her to offer a holistic approach to mental health, addressing both the emotional and practical aspects of her clients’ lives.
Nefeli is a dedicated counsellor who she is currently working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. With a strong educational background, including Master of Science in Educational Psychology and Certificate in Therapeutic Skills & Studies, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice. Nefeli has also worked within the NHS Counselling Service in Lambeth.
