Negar Nassirpour offers a calm, friendly and non-judgemental space where her clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, and truly be themselves. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most essential part of healing and so her sessions will always focus on how the client experiences the world around them, to build a dialogue based on shared understanding. Negar approaches therapy from an integrative perspective which means that she works with different modalities and from the principle that every individual is unique. As such, she will always follow the client’s preferred pace and allow them to direct the focus of the sessions, based on their specific needs.
Negar decided to become a counsellor after her own positive experience of being a client in long-term therapy, which made lasting changes to how she saw and felt about her life. Having worked in professional services for over ten years, Negar has first-hand experience of the pressures that can arise in the workplace and the emotional impact of those on individuals. She aims to help her clients develop coping strategies to enhance their mental and emotional wellbeing. She has a particular interest in self-esteem issues, work-related stress and burnout, relationships, and intercultural counselling.
Negar is a trainee integrative counsellor and a student member of BACP. She has an MSc in Psychology and is currently working towards a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Negar works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service, seeing clients at a GP surgery in Lambeth. Negar offers counselling sessions in Farsi and English.
