Nicola Bull
Nicola Bull provides a calm safe space where clients can be their true selves and feel fully seen and heard. Working with warmth and empathy, she believes in building a genuine partnership with her clients, assisting them to become more aware of their thoughts and feelings, and exploring what may be influencing those thoughts and feelings. This awareness leads to fresh insights and coping strategies, and opens the door to self-compassion, new possibilities, and a sense of healing. She has an integrative approach which incorporates different modalities to meet the individual needs of each client.
With a background in public health, Nicola spent many years working for a large international organisation before going freelance. She understands the pressures and stresses that can come with everyday life, and is sensitive to the impact they can have on relationships and emotional wellbeing.
Nicola’s work has taken her to many countries – exposing her to a variety of cultures, religions and belief systems. She is interested in social context and recognises that, for some, seeking therapy and speaking about mental health can be complex and challenging. In the past her work has included issues around sexual health, and she appreciates that some topics can be difficult to talk about. She listens carefully and without judgement, and understands the critical importance of trust and confidentiality in the therapy room. Nicola has a special interest in stress, bereavement, relationships and self-esteem.
Nicola is an integrative counselling psychotherapist and a member of the BACP. She is currently working towards a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Nicola works within The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling service in Clapham.
