Nikkita Hope-Brown provides an empathic space where her clients can be themselves and feel safe, heard, seen and understood. She knows that therapy can feel daunting for her clients and thus works at their pace to explore and understand who they are. She draws on a range of approaches, includingTransactional Analysis, Gestalt and Person Centred Therapy, to help her clients better understand the thoughts, feelings and emotions that may be troubling them. Additionally, Nikkita works alongside her clients and helps them to identify and communicate their needs effectively, so as to improve the relationships they have with themselves and others.
With a background as a personal trainer for women, and seeing NHS patients for counselling at a GP practice in Clapham, Nikkita’s areas of interest and experience include difficulties with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image, and relationships. She understands how lonely, frustrating and challenging life can become for people struggling with these issues and works to identify healthier ways to cope. She focuses on building on the internal and external resources her clients already have, so that they can live happier, fuller lives in a way that suits them best. Nikkita has a special interest in working with young people and new mums.
Nikkita is an integrative humanistic counsellor and is a registered member of the BACP. She has worked at a GP practice seeing NHS patients for counselling and is currently working within The Awareness Centre’s low cost service in Clapham.She is the final stages of a working towards a BSc in humanistic counselling.
