Olga Salodini’s approach is collaborative – she thinks of herself as being in a partnership to help her clients, and non-judgmental. She seeks to provide a safe, warm, comfortable, confidential space where clients can explore, and seek to achieve an understanding of their relationships and life issues. Olga has an interest in sexuality, intimate relationships, family relationships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Whether her clients seek to improve their communication with themselves or others, Olga will work with them to achieve their goals and make positive changes they seek. Her dedication as a counsellor is to support her clients to regain a balance and a sense of belonging in the world and resolve relationship difficulties.

Olga’s approach is integrative, which means that she will tailor the treatment to suit her client’s specific needs. By the same token, she is eclectic in her approach to therapy, using Attachment theory where it is useful – e.g., to facilitate stronger bond between the partners – or cognitive therapy – to help clients develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving to reduce their psychological distress. She also draws on existential therapy to understand the way her clients may see the world and help them to make choices based on new insights.

Olga’s own mixed cultural background (she has lived in different parts of the world and has confronted a range of challenges) has led her to a strong interest in multicultural counselling. She also draws on many years of work in the field of customer service to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients, as well as to impart insights about such communications.

Olga is an integrative trainee counsellor who holds degree in Psychology (BSc) and a Life Coaching diploma. She is a registered member of COSRT, ATSAC, BPS and NCP and is working towards a diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. She sees her clients under qualified supervision within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham and is able to offer therapy in English, Italian and Russian.
