Mask Group 6 Oriana Scalzulli

Oriana Scalzulli – NHS Team Leader Lambeth

Oriana Scalzulli (she/her/hers) is a fully qualified Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. Additionally, she is working towards a MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy, and she is a member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and of the UKAGP (UK Association for Gestalt Practitioners). Her experience includes offering counselling and psychotherapy and working both on short-term and open-ended basis.

Oriana adopts a Gestalt therapeutic approach, grounded in a holistic view of the person – mind, body and environment. Therefore, she offers an embodied and culturally sensitive approach to therapy. Oriana provides her clients with the opportunity to creatively explore the themes they wish to bring into therapy. She focuses on deepening their awareness as she is convinced this is key to living more fully and to making the changes they wish to make. Oriana has a particular interest in existential themes and life transitions. By working collaboratively with her clients, she helps them identify unhelpful patterns, developing new resources and behaviours.

With a background in International Studies and Social Anthropology, Oriana has always been interested in the role of social and cultural factors in an individual’s life and has examined processes of personal and collective creation of meaning. This now emerges in her therapeutic work – she can offer her clients a space to identify or re-examine their sources of meaning and value. As a mindfulness meditation practitioner, she naturally integrates a non-judgemental and open observation of what is happening in the here-and-now into her therapeutic practice.
