Patrizia Vadala is a Gestalt Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with more than 10 years of experience working with individuals and couples.

She is warm, easy to talk to and an empathic therapist who takes care to establish an authentic and trusting relationship with her clients from day one. She will provide you with a safe space and a sense of being held and understood, so that you become increasingly able to explore your difficult feelings and finally make sense of any emotional suffering you are experiencing. Patrizia believes everyone’s experience is unique and important and she will strive passionately for her clients’ growth and empowerment, and to bring about long-lasting improvements and transformational change into your lives.

In her practice she incorporates elements of mindfulness, breathing techniques and guided visualisations. She draws also on Attachment and Trauma focused therapy, for which she has specialist trainings, and on the latest research in the field of neuroscience. Recently she has included elements of the Internal Family System approach.

She is a fervent Gestaltist, still researching and writing in the field, and firmly believes in the awareness attained within the body as a leading way to enduring clarity and ultimate healing and she leads regular classes, workshops and seminars using Gestalt techniques.

Patrizia is a fully qualified Gestalt Integrative Counsellor and Psycho-Pedagogic Body Movement Therapist (a method that gives great importance to the body-somatic experience in order to achieve a greater awareness), a registered member of the BACP and accredited with the CNCP (National Council for Professional Counsellors). She has a first degree in English Literature and Language, with specialisations in Linguistics, and Gender studies.

With a background in education, acting and marketing & PR, she can easily relate to issues with the creative professions such as managing stress and self-worth. She has experience in working with the NHS England, Mind and other charities in Europe and UK. She is a member of the IAGTT and of the New York Gestalt Institute (where “it all begun”). Patrizia supports clients in long-term open-ended practice at The Awareness centre and online.
