Pinar’s therapeutic approach is informed by mindfulness, aiming to bring the client to the present moment and explore how the experience of “now” may be conditioned by early experience in life. It is an embodied approach that empowers client’s own inner wisdom, enabling them to better address challenges in their lives.
Before training in psychotherapy, Pinar did a degree in Film Studies and worked in TV and film. During her media work, she began exploring mindfulness and studied meditation in its traditional setting in Nepal over several years. Pinar’s specialist areas include relationships, depression, anxiety, panic attack, trauma. Her work is also informed by Compassionate Inquiry developed by Gabor Mate and Internal Family Systems developed by Schwartz.
Pinar is a fully qualified and UKCP accredited mindfulness-based psychotherapist, with an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy, she is also trained in couple therapy. She has 10 years experience of providing therapy in the private and voluntary sectors, including working for a NHS service. She currently works with individuals and couples in private practice on line and face to face, offering long and short-term psychotherapy in English and Turkish.
