Dr Ramesh Pattni creates a safe space in which the positive regard for, and empathetic connection with the client, can open the potential for the client in processing difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. The lived experience of the client is worked through during the sessions so that the potential for change is realised. This could be a change in how the client sees the world and themselves or thinks, feels and behaves. What is more, this is done through collaboratively developing insights and new strategies for coping and living. The client’s journey is supported throughout with an integrative approach where Ramesh will consider using the most appropriate methods and techniques according to the need of the client at whatever stage they are. Ramesh knows that each client is unique, and he will help the client to find a way beyond distress towards reaching their potential for a fulfilling life.

Ramesh ran his own business for more than two decades and has considerable experience in leadership and interpersonal relations. He knows that at the heart of our existence are our relationships with the significant people in our lives and how these can lead sometimes to distress as well as fulfilment and satisfaction. For many years he has been a teacher of spiritual techniques, including mindfulness and meditation for mental health. He has many years of experience dealing with difficult issues in the public and private spheres and brings this in the service of the client who may have issues around relationships, stress, anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement.

Ramesh is an integrative and existential trainee counsellor. He is registered with the BACP and a graduate member of the BPS. He is currently working for The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service in Lambeth whilst studying for a doctorate in Existential Counselling and Psychotherapy.
