Rebecca works with an integrative and person-centred approach, which gives the client space and time to work through their own feelings. She works in a person-centred way to help clients explore their feelings and help them find their own way of coping with their issues, providing an empathic and supportive space for the client to explore their concerns. Rebecca likes clients to feel that they can explore things at their own pace, in a client-led environment.
Rebecca has previously worked as a support worker and is used to supporting people with a wide range of concerns. This work has been valuable in giving her a range of tools to work with clients in distress. She has also worked with children in schools and has been a stay at home Mum. These roles have increased her awareness of the stresses of daily life and she wants to provide a non-judgemental space where clients can bring whatever they would like to talk about. She provides a space that enables self-awareness and growth.
Rebecca looks at the impact of childhood and how this informs later feelings and behaviour.
She understands the importance of good communication with others and enabling clients to feel they have a safe space. Rebecca has experience in pregnancy and childbirth related issues, anxiety, stress and a particular interest in Eating Disorders through her work as a support worker.
Rebecca is an integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting. Rebecca is currently working towards a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
