Robert Falkner has completed both an Advanced Diploma and a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy, both of which are UKCP accredited courses. With a background of over ten years of working with vulnerable young people and their families across London, Rob has worked therapeutically through his training in a variety of settings including hospitals, prisons, GP clinics, schools, in the community and in private practice.
His aim is to provide an environment of curiosity, honesty and care, where a person can become more aware of their habitual patterns and learn to address them in new ways. With a relational and flexible approach, Rob will respect the differences between us, and the range of difficulties people come to therapy with. Rob believes that our emotional lives shape and lead the other parts of ourselves, and our job in therapy is to bring our feelings into clarity. He feels therapy is not about making a problem, fear, trauma or loss ‘go away’, but rather, learning to live with that problem in a new way.
Rob was schooled in the U.K. and Portugal. He has an Honours B.A. in Developmental Studies. His interest in different cultures and countries led him to work in Portugal, Costa Rica, Israel and Canada. He has travelled throughout Europe and North Africa. He is fluent in English and Portuguese. From all this Rob brings his sense of discovery to the one-to-one ‘adventure’ of psychotherapy.
Robert works in private practice at The Awrareness Centre in Clapham. He offers therapy in English and Portuguese.
