Rochelle Johnson
Rochelle Johnson is a trainee integrative counsellor with a growing foundation in therapeutic support. She holds a Level 2 Counselling skills qualification, as well as Level 3 and is on the verge of completing a Level 4 diploma in therapeutic integrative counselling. As a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Rochelle adheres to their ethical framework and professional standards. Rochelle offers face-to-face counselling within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham.
With 1 year of experience providing therapeutic support to clients, Rochelle employs an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic, person-centred, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques. Her toolkit also includes empty chair work, play therapy, and inner child work. Rochelle offers a non-judgemental space to encourage clients to explore their inner world. Rochelle works with clients to decipher difficult thoughts and feelings in a bid to replace quell emotional distress. Rochelle encompasses an individualistic style approach as she acknowledges that each client is different due to their needs. Rochelle has worked with adolescents from diverse backgrounds’, addressing a range of life issues. Her past therapeutic work with younger clients’ has allowed her to develop expertise in the specific challenges faced by individuals from different walks of life.
Rochelle has vast knowledge of socio-economic issues as a result of studying health and social care and volunteering for a charity-funded gym. Rochelle is cognisant of the ways these factors can negatively impact individuals’ mental health. Rochelle aims to work with clients to discover safer strategies to manage strong emotions and stress.
