Sallie Coventry is passionate about the power of therapy. Working in an integrated manner, she adapts her approach according to the needs of her clients at a given moment in time. This might include exploring meaning and purpose (Existential therapy) or early life experiences (Psychodynamic therapy). Underpinning this is an emphasis on building an open and honest working relationship with clients, where they can feel safe to share difficult thoughts and feelings, without judgment. Through the therapeutic process, Sallie strives to help clients get to know themselves better and become more accepting of themselves, as well as more informed about how they relate to the world around them. Her objective is to work with clients to help them accomplish their goals and to improve their overall well-being.
Having worked in fast-paced, communications agencies over her entire career, Sallie has first-hand experience of operating in a high-stress environment and the toll it can take on your mind and body. With the demands of our modern world, mental ill health symptoms, such as depression and / or anxiety are prevalent and can be completely debilitating. In particular, Sallie is interested in workplace issues and the negative effects of sub-optimal working environments and relationships. She works with clients to explore and understand these initially, moving towards resolution and improvement once the issues are understood.
Sallie is an integrative counsellor with membership of the BACP and AICTP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Lambeth. Sallie is currently working towards a Post Graduate Diploma in integrated counselling and coaching.
