Samantha West provides a warm, safe and confidential space where clients can feel heard and supported. She appreciates it can be uncomfortable exploring difficult emotions and feelings and by building trust in the relationship with her clients, in a non-judgemental environment, she works at their own pace to enable them to make positive changes. Using the Person-Centred approach, Sam works empathically to understand each client’s experiences from their perspective. She believes that each person is unique and through exploring and understanding themselves and their concerns, they are able to make decisions which are right for them and reach their true potential.
Sam enjoys working with people and has a breadth of experience with people from a wide range of backgrounds and walks of life. She spent many years working in the banking sector, she has worked for herself and understands the pressures of the professional environment and the difficulties in maintaining a healthy work/life balance. Sam has a particular interest in self-esteem, anxiety, bereavement and loss, family issues and relationships. She understands that there are times in our lives when our usual coping mechanisms are no longer effective and works with her clients to build on their internal and external resources to enable them to make choices that are right for them and change unhelpful behaviour patterns.
Sam is a Person-Centred counsellor and a member of the BACP. She is now in her final year working towards a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Sam is currently working with The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling Service in Tooting.
