Sara-Jane Mulryan is a trainee counsellor and student member of the BACP. She is working towards a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and sees clients at The Awareness Centre in Clapham.

Sara-Jane creates an empathetic and supportive space for clients using her warm and open-minded approach. She believes everyone has the potential to find compassion for themselves and trusts that this is the key to healing. She believes we all have the resources within ourselves to navigate difficult situations and supports clients to explore and understand their emotions in a safe, non-judgemental space. Sara-Jane is training as an Integrative counsellor, which means she will draw on several different ways of working with clients, tailoring her approach to their specific needs. With Person-Centred therapy at the core of her practice, she will ‘walk alongside’ clients on their therapeutic journey, allowing them to go at their own pace. Sara-Jane may use Gestalt inspired techniques to look at the mind-body connection and Solution-Focused ideas to work towards clients’ goals, however big or small these may be.

Before Sara-Jane became a trainee counsellor she worked in Arts administration and customer service for 15 years, where she experienced busy working environments, often working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines; she understands the impact stress and anxiety can have on the body and mind. Following her own therapy, Sara-Jane decided to re-train as a counsellor to use her strong listening, understanding and empathy skills to help others better understand their thought processes, feelings, and patterns of relating to others.
