Sara Sharp believes that seeing a counsellor should be as normal as a trip to the shops, but for understand that for some taking the decision to speak to someone about difficult feelings and experiences is a hard and scary thing to do. To dispel some of the fear around seeking help she creates a space where her clients can experience a supportive, warm and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship. Sara is an expert listener who uses different theoretical approaches according to your needs to create a place where you can talk openly and freely about things which worry you. Trained in the use of transactional analysis, gestalt and person centered approaches, Sara will work with you to help you deal with difficult feelings and begin to make the changes you want to make for a more fulfilled life. Sara has undertaken additional training in trauma, animal assisted therapy and is a keen mindfulness practitioner.

Sara has a background in the corporate world and can see how relationships, stress and pressure can impact on peoples’ daily lives. She is a trained psychologist and has worked with many businesses to implement change. She has found over the years that success always rests on how people feel about the change, understanding the role that fear plays and how this can be transformed in to excitement if approached in the right way. Working now with individuals, she helps clients overcome their fear of change to effect real change.

Sara is an integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham. Sara is currently working towards an advanced diploma in humanistic integrative counselling.
