Sarah Janes is a qualified BACP-registered therapist who uses a person-centred approach. She believes in the healing relationship between client and therapist and her sessions have a highly supportive, open and empathic quality. She believes in counselling as an inside-out approach to self-discovery, and is passionate about helping people gain further insight into themselves, and to understand and accept their feelings. She is experienced in working with a wide range of emotional, identity and relationship difficulties and specialises in bereavement and loss, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ and identity issues.
Sarah has a broad life experience working in the creative fields of graphic design, User Experience and photography for many years before changing direction to become a counsellor. She understands the way in which we can become defined by our jobs and the external pressures we can put on ourselves. In her spare time she enjoys travel and has an interest in yoga, meditation and Eastern philosophies.
Sarah is a Person Centred Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Further to her core training, she is trained in Bereavement and Loss counselling working in a bereavement and loss agency with with clients who have lost someone close to them. She also works for a charity counselling people affected by HIV and Aids. Other trainings and experience include complicated grief disorder. Sarah works with NHS clients at a GP surgery in Lambeth.
