Sue Durrans provides a non-judgemental confidential secure setting where clients feel listened to, heard and supported on their own journey.  Assisting clients to get to know themselves, by exploring different challenges at different levels of consciousness, allows issues to be recognised and appropriate solutions identified as quickly and appropriately as possible. Sue works with clients to solve these challenges creatively and find solutions to what is blocking them to a deeper understanding of themselves and others.

By using an integrative therapeutic approach, from CBT through humanist or psychodynamic to transpersonal, Sue is not bound by any one philosophy and uses different methods to explore the language that resonates with each client. She believes that awareness is the key to changing our lives in a way that is in our best interest, to knowing ourselves, to becoming an emotionally healthier person and developing our own potential. Sue will design and agree a unique approach with each client whether exploring feelings and responses to events ‘here and now’ or past and internal unresolved conflicts which influence present life and choices.

Sue appreciates that by empowering a client to find their own approach to the many aspects of their lives, and therefore to make informed decisions about the issues they face, will enable each person to find their very own meaning to their life. It is always a privilege to accompany clients on this journey.

Sue has interests in using human psychology, spirituality and mindfulness as more positive and helpful ways to explore emotions around anxiety, stress, anger and life transitions. With a wealth of experience over three careers, from health and nutrition to financial accounting and management, Sue has worked all her life in differing work places and whilst raising a family. She understands the typical conflicts, difficulties and challenging demands in balancing commitments and a foundation of self-care.

Sue is training as an integrative and transpersonal psychotherapist, a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and is registered with UKCP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
