Suriellah Young offers clients a safe and supportive space where they can feel accepted and not judged. Suriellah’s focus is on developing trust in her therapeutic relationships with clients and with sensitivity, encouraging them to find ways of resolving their current difficulties. Clients are free to explore their innermost struggles, hurts and unmet desires, discovering new, creative ways of coping with present challenges. Within the counselling process, clients are able to gain meaningful insights into limiting thoughts, feelings and fears and realise their potential to make positive, lasting lifestyle changes. Suriellah applies an integrative method, using tailored person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to meet clients’ needs. Clients who are committed to personal therapy can look forward to feeling more confident, empowered and in control of their life.

Suriellah has worked extensively over the years with individuals and families within various health and social care settings, as both a qualified social worker and support worker. Her experience in supporting individuals and families covers a wide range of issues: individual/family relationships and breakdown, addiction, domestic violence, bereavement and stress. Suriellah creates a supportive environment for clients whereby they are able to engage in the process of identifying patterns of self-defeating behaviour and experience the benefits of healing and enjoying more satisfying ways of living. She specialises in issues relative to depression and anxiety, family and relationships, self esteem and self confidence and communications.

Suriellah is a placement counsellor who applies an integrative approach in therapy. She works with The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling Service in Tooting. Suriellah is pursuing a CPCAB accredited diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a registered member with the BACP. She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Social Work.
