Suzanne Adebari is the Practice Manager for the Tooting branch of The Awareness Centre (TAC). Coming from a media background with a first degree in film, Suzanne decided to change direction to work in mental health in 2008. Creativity, literature and the arts continue to play a significant part in Suzanne’s life, with her interest in language and narrative leading her to do a Masters in psychoanalysis together with a clinical training at The Site, for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She has also headed clinical research projects for the mental health charity Mind.
Suzanne is enthused by the challenges of Lacanian psychoanalytic theory and particularly curious about the ways in which the diversity and inventiveness of psychoanalytic thinking can be applied to the 21st century problems that people work through in her private practice as a psychotherapist/psychoanalyst.
Her authentic, solutions focussed management style is well-suited to the complexity of the practice manager role at The Awareness Centre, allowing her to combine her clinical and management experience gained in the NHS, community, charity and private sectors to build a collaborative, professional and accessible team at the Tooting office.
