Tanya believes counselling holds many benefits towards the client. She aims for her client to feel valued, heard and understood. She looks to explore any challenges which they may be experiencing within life.  She provides a supportive environment and non-judgmental approach to support the client in exploring their feelings.

As an integrative counsellor, Tanya combines several theoretical frameworks of humanistic, psychodynamic, and CBT Therapy in her practice. Tanya tailors each session to the unique needs of the client. She believes the client is the expert of themselves, yet she aims to assist them in unpacking and exploring their feelings. She looks at how your past may be affecting your present in a safe and secure way. Tanya’s purpose in utilising CBT is to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours associated with disorders such as anxiety, depression, and phobias.

Tanya understands that the trusting relationship between the client and counsellor is imperative to the helping relationship. She wishes to create a sincere and empathic relationship, which enables the client to feel comfortable to understand and work through their problems, thus resulting in a productive and healthy working relationship.

Tanya is a counselling graduate and has many years of experience working with children and young people and volunteered with place2be. Tanya has experience working within the NHS and has worked with clients with a range of mental health difficulties. Tanya Currently works with adults working through addiction, depression, anxiety and bereavement at Sutton Nightwatch and The Lucy Rayner Foundation.

Tanya is passionate about providing a safe space for people to explore self-esteem and acceptance at their own speed. Tanya recognises the value of actually listening to her clients and encourages them to use their voices to express themselves.

Tanya is a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She is currently working in private practice at The Awareness centre in Clapham.
