Tanya believes counselling holds so many benefits towards the client. She aims for her client to feel valued, heard and understood. She looks to explore any challenges which they may be experiencing within life. She provides a supportive environment and non-judgmental approach to support the client to explore their feelings.
Tanya utilises the following theoretical models: person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT. This is blended in her practice to suit the needs of her clients. She believes the client is the expert of themselves, yet she aims to assist them in unpacking and exploring their feelings. Tanya understands that the trusting relationship between the client and counsellor is imperative to the helping relationship. She wishes to create a sincere and empathetic relationship, which enables the client to feel comfortable to understand and work through their problems, thus resulting in a productive and healthy working relationship.
Tanya has a background in customer service and has dedicated an incredible amount of time working with the public. She feels that her professional face to face interactions have enhanced her listening skills and her ability to assist the receiver. Tanya understands the importance of truly listening to her clients as well as encouraging them to utilise their voice to express. She specialises in depression, stress, anxiety and self-esteem issues.
