By providing an empathic and supportive space, Valeria Fleury will help you find your inner voice and discover your true, strong self. She will help you explore and understand how negative thoughts, painful memories and feelings have been engrained in your mind, causing negative symptoms such as anxiety and depression and ultimately an unhappy life. When these are identified, then you will uncover your own strengths and self worth, and learn how to draw on your resilience so you can start living a fuller, more satisfying and happier life.
Having lived in several countries in different phases of her life, Valeria experienced first hand the difficulties of ‘leaving behind and starting over’. She understands the internal and external pressures people put on themselves, many times feeling a sense of ‘not belonging’. Throughout life, in times of change and readaptation you may feel lost, confused, alone, stuck somewhere you don’t want to be but not knowing how to get out of. You may start using unhelpful strategies to cope with new situations, which may cause you to feel withdrawn, lonely and unhappy. Valeria will help you to identify healthier ways of managing these negative emotions and behaviours, especially (but not exclusively) in difficult, life changing events and phases we all go through.
Valeria has lived in the UK for 16 years and holds an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling and an MA in Child Development, both from the University of London. She works in private practice in Richmond, Teddington and Hampton.
Valeria offers therapy in English and Portuguese and Spanish.
