Victoria Batten offers a safe and empathic space for her clients to feel at ease with themselves and the opportunity to explore their experiences in their own way and at their own pace without fear of judgment. She understands how hard it can be for clients to take their first step in perusing counselling sessions and aims to provide them with a caring and supportive environment to start their journey.
Victoria uses a Psychodynamic approach to therapy as she believes that the background and childhood experiences shape a person and that patterns of behaviour are passed down from generation to generation. The only way to break these cycles is by developing deeper self-awareness of these processes and developing new ways of navigating through life.
Victoria has worked for many years in a client-based environment and understands how important it is for the client to feel contained. She calls upon her personal experiences where relevant to offer her clients a deeper understanding of their anger, anxiety, depression and stress.
Victoria has completed her foundation course in Psychodynamic counselling and is on her way to completing her diploma course. She is a student member of the BACP and she is a placement counsellor based at The Awareness centre in Tooting where she works within the Low-Cost Counselling service.
