Zahra Saba seeks to listen with empathy, to understand, accept and respect her clients with unconditional positive regard. She offers a safe space to explore her client’s feelings and resources and a reflective relationship that is considerate and sensitive of her client’s needs. Zahra aims to empower her clients to make decisions and create the changes they wish to make. She believes each client has a unique and subjective experience of the world, and tries to see her clients issues from their perspective. Zahra endeavours to accompany accompany her clients on their journey, as well as providing space for them to be appropriately challenged.
Zahra has a degree in English Translation and has worked as an interpreter and translator for more than twenty years. She has experience working with people who have language barriers and those who cannot speak English fluently. She has translated a few books on child psychology and has a qualification in parenting.
Zahra uses a Person-Centred approach the therapy. She also utilises a variety of approaches within the humanistic framework such as: Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focussed, Mindfulness, and Experiential Therapy. She aims to provide an the opportunity to increase her clients sense of self, gain better understanding of themselves, increase self awareness and emotional competence.
Zahra works with The Awareness Centre’s NHS cost counselling service in Lambeth and is experienced in working with a wide variety of issues. She works within the BACP’s ethical framework. Zahra is currently in training and is working towards a level 5 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
