Patrizia Vadalà - Course Lead

Patrizia Vadalà is the Course Lead for The Awareness Centre Training School. She is responsible for Student Welfare, Course Supervision, and Student Placement. She is a therapist, a tutor and lecturer, and a Clinical Supervisor.

Patrizia is a fully qualified Gestalt Counsellor trained and accredited with the Gestalt Centre in Italy and a Psycho-Pedagogic Body Movement Practitioner, a method that gives significant importance to somatic interventions. She has a first degree in English Literature and Language, with specialisation in Linguistics, and Gender studies.

Before transitioning to therapy, Patrizia had a background in marketing, event planning, and more recently, teaching and lecturing (while also pursuing alongside drama and poetry as semi-hobby activities).

Since her counselling qualification, she has been involved in teaching and tutoring counselling courses, leading seminars, and designing workshops, primarily focused on her specialty, the Gestalt therapy approach, though not exclusively. She also runs a private practice, where she supports individual clients and provides supervision for other therapists.

With her diverse experience, including work with the NHS, Richmond Mind, and other charities, Patrizia brings a deep commitment to promoting diversity and equality. She deeply believes in the impact and importance of culture and ethnicity on everyone’s wellbeing.

Patrizia genuinely includes and learns from people from various backgrounds every day and as both a human being and a teacher she encourages open and honest conversations  with the students. She passionately believes that the more inclusive we are as a group, the greater our achievements will be.
