Es Wainwright is a warm and empathetic therapist, she is committed to providing a safe and confidential space to support clients work through their thoughts and feelings without being judged.  She believes that listening, understanding, and building trust is the basis of the therapeutic relationship.  Clients need to feel comfortable to explore and understand their concerns or worries.  By releasing their thoughts, clients develop new coping strategies and tools, which enables them to move towards greater self-awareness, self-esteem and self-worth leading to a more fulfilled and autonomous life.

Es’s approach is integrative, she draws from different modalities, such as Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Attachment Theory, which makes the therapy experience unique and led by the clients’ individual needs.  She may use a Person-Centred approach to create a space for the client to experience their feelings and the Psychodynamic approach to help them to understand how the past influences the here and now.  She also uses elements from CBT to challenge automatic negative thoughts and to help clients move away from self-debilitating beliefs.

Es has particular interest in domestic abuse, and coercive behaviour.  She has a good insight of work-related stress, experience of working with Children & Young People.  Es offers sessions face-to-face, telephone or via Zoom, where clients can freely explore all aspects of their life.  She has experience of working with anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, postnatal depression, ADHD, illness, intrusive thoughts, addiction, sexual abuse, relationship problems and childhood trauma.  Es is an integrative therapist with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is also a registered member of the BACP.
