Managing Director
Michaela McCarthy is a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, psychosexual & relationship therapist, clinical supervisor and tutor with over 25 years’ experience in the mental health field. She founded The Awareness Centre in 2005, offering a confidential counselling and psychotherapy service in south London.
Michaela is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge, and that energy led to her opening The Awareness Centre Training School in 2020. She is committed to creating a safe environment for her team, for therapists and for clients to engage and develop professional relationships. She works in private practice in Wimpole Street, Marylebone and is senior accredited with the BACP.

Our qualified private counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists are all either registered, accredited with one or more of the following professional bodies. Our trainee therapists hold a student membership.
