The Awareness Centre offers a range of clinical placements for trainee counsellors, psychotherapists, sex and relationship therapists and clinical supervisors looking to develop their skills and gain practical experience in a supportive professional environment.
Through our established NHS, Low-Cost Counselling and specialist therapy services, we provide opportunities to work with a diverse range of clients, integrate theory into clinical practice and build confidence as a practitioner. Our placements are designed to support therapists at different stages of their professional development, with guidance from our experienced clinical team.
Counselling Placements
Our counselling placements offer trainee counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience through our NHS and Low-Cost Counselling services.
Working with a diverse range of clients, trainees can develop their therapeutic skills through short-term and open-ended counselling, with opportunities for face-to-face and online practice.
Psychosexual & Relationship Counselling Placements
Our specialist psychosexual and relationship counselling placements are designed for qualified therapists undertaking further training towards COSRT accreditation. Working with individuals and couples through our Low-Cost Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy Service, trainees can develop their experience of addressing sexual difficulties, intimacy concerns and relationship challenges, with both face-to-face and online opportunities available.
Clinical Supervision Placements
Our clinical supervision placements provide students studying on The Awareness Centre Training School’s Diploma in Clinical Supervision with the opportunity to develop their supervisory skills in practice.
Available after the first three months of training, these placements support students in completing their required 20 hours of supervision practice while building confidence and competence as clinical supervisors.
We run a multilingual counselling service within our placements and are particularly interested in hearing from therapists who speak Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Farsi and Hindi.
