Diana Gomez-Duque – NHS Senior Counselling Coordinator

Diana Gomez-Duque is the NHS Senior Counselling Coordinator at The Awareness Centre. She is passionate about contributing to environments where both clients and practitioners can thrive. She finds great fulfilment in being part of the wider journey of transformation that mental health services make possible and is motivated by the positive impact that accessible, well-organised support can have on people’s lives. Known for her collaborative approach, emotional resilience, and strong attention to detail, she is committed to finding practical solutions, maintaining high professional standards, and supporting teams to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her aim is to help create a seamless and supportive experience that enables therapeutic services to operate at their very best.

Throughout her career, Diana has worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, including addiction, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. She has provided structured counselling to NHS-referred clients, supported individuals in recovery from substance misuse, and worked with women affected by domestic abuse and complex trauma. In addition, she has contributed to the development of young people through mentoring and community leadership roles, supporting their social, emotional, and psychological wellbeing. Alongside her therapeutic experience, Diana has developed extensive expertise in administration, service coordination, auditing, reporting, and process improvement, helping organisations maintain efficient and effective systems of support.

Diana holds a BA (Hons) in Theology and Counselling, an MSc in Psychology (Conversion), and a BA in Environmental Engineering. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), she brings over fifteen years of experience across therapeutic, community, and operational settings. Her diverse professional background has provided her with a strong understanding of both the clinical and organisational aspects of mental health services, enabling her to support the delivery of high-quality care.
