Jessica Moody is a trainee integrative counsellor and is a student member of the BACP. She works with NHS patients in Lambeth. She is working towards an advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

Jessica provides a calm, empathetic and supportive space for clients to talk and to be their authentic selves. She believes that counselling can provide an incredible opportunity to understand yourself better – from the childhood memories which continue to trouble you, to the argument you had at work yesterday. She works with clients to help them to explore their drivers and insecurities, as well as the resources and resilience they have for dealing with life’s many challenges.

Jessica uses an integrative approach, meaning that she adapts the modalities she is using depending on the client sitting in front of her. In particular, she focuses on person-centered counselling, to provide clients with empathy and unconditional acceptance, as well as transactional analysis and solution-focused therapy. Her approach is tailored to the individual client.

Jessica has a background in research and peacebuilding in West Africa and has a PhD in post-conflict peacebuilding. She has spent many years working in post-conflict Ivory Coast and Mali. This has given her an insight into some of the most challenging aspects of life as well as what it is like living in different parts of the world. Consequently, she is interested in identity and the way our environment and social interactions can influence our feelings and thoughts, as well as the ways in which diversity and difference can impact relationships. Additionally, through her research she has become fascinated in the pervasive and global nature of anxiety and what drives us to become anxious and fixated on ideas or thoughts.
