Amy Sharpe believes in providing a non-judgemental trustworthy environment for clients to express and work through their emotions and experiences safely. By using a person centred approach Amy advocates the autonomy of the client, letting them set the pace and uses a non-directive approach when communicating. Being able to work psychodynamically, Amy can help clients explore their past experiences and make connections to the present day emotional conflict and anxiety that they face. With the knowledge that no two people are the same, Amy treats each client as the unique individual that they are and uses the different approaches to work with variety, tailoring them to the client’s needs, working with them to unlock the self-awareness needed to gain more confidence and a sense of wellbeing within themselves.

Amy has a background in admin, sales and music and comes from a multicultural background. Being adopted, Amy’s childhood was not conventional so she understands how our younger years in life can shape our outlook as an adult, and how that can affect the way in which relationships are formed with others and how we view ourselves.

Amy is an integrative counsellor and a student member of BACP. She is currently training for her diploma in integrative counselling. She works for The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
