Anita Kedziora is a trainee integrative counsellor working at The Awareness Centre. She holds a BSc in Psychology and Counselling and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Anita is currently undertaking further professional training towards qualification as a counsellor and works within a supervised, ethical framework in line with BACP standards. Her academic background has provided her with a strong foundation in psychological theory, mental health, and human development, which she thoughtfully integrates into her clinical work. She is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice, ensuring that the support she offers is safe, confidential and grounded in best practice.

Anita provides a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for them. She believes that a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change and works collaboratively to help clients feel heard, understood and accepted. Her integrative approach allows her to draw on person-centred principles, offering empathy and authenticity, while also incorporating cognitive and behavioural strategies where appropriate. Anita supports clients in identifying patterns that may contribute to anxiety, low mood or relational difficulties, helping them to build insight and develop practical coping strategies. She recognises that beginning therapy can feel daunting and aims to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe to speak openly about their experiences, whether they are facing current challenges or exploring longer-standing issues.

Anita’s previous professional background has significantly shaped her therapeutic perspective. She has experience working with autistic children, which has deepened her understanding of neurodiversity, communication differences and the importance of adapting support to meet individual needs. Her work as a dental nurse and in the care of the elderly has given her insight into health-related anxiety, vulnerability, and the emotional impact of physical illness and ageing. These roles strengthened her ability to remain calm under pressure, listen attentively and respond with sensitivity and empathy. Anita has a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and caregiving pressures. She values working with people from diverse backgrounds and life stages, supporting them to build resilience, enhance self-understanding and move towards more balanced and fulfilling ways of living.
