Charlie Schadeberg is a trainee counsellor registered as a student member of the BACP, a trainee member of the UKCP, and a graduate member of the BPS. He completed a BA in philosophy, an MSc in psychology, and an MSc in Early Intervention in Psychosis. He is currently working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy while also in the final months of completing a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Before beginning his formal counselling training, he worked in mental health services for several years, where he supported individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Charlie works from a humanistic and integrative position that brings together person centred, psychodynamic, and existential ideas. His way of working places the relationship at the centre of the therapeutic process. He aims to offer a warm, steady, and accepting space where clients can speak openly and feel understood without fear of judgement. He supports clients as they explore their inner worlds, helping them recognise pattens in their thoughts and feelings, and encouraging greater awareness of how their past experiences influence their present. His approach is guided by the belief that each person brings a unique perspective from their own lived experiences. He holds that there is no single correct way to live, yet the pressures of life and the expectations of others can make it difficult to navigate choices and develop a stable sense of identity. He works to create space where clients can explore these challenges with clarity and compassion, allowing them to understand what feels true for them and to move towards a way of living that aligns with their values and needs.

Charlie has experience working with clients who have faced emotional pain rooted in trauma, bullying, and abuse, as well as those living with stress, anger, and navigating life with neurodivergence. He has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent and experiences of childhood trauma.

Charlie approaches this work with sensitivity to the varied ways people process information, relate to others, and move through everyday life. His background in Early Intervention in Psychosis has also given him insight into how overwhelming and confusing certain mental health experiences can feel, both for individuals and their families. His goal is always to respect the individuality of each client and to support them at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
