Collette Cahill is a Trainee Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor working towards Diploma accreditation in Transpersonal Counselling & Psychotherapy & is registered with the UKCP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting, and also works with NHS patients at an Outpatient Clinic & Day Centre for Eating Disorder Recovery, as well as having involvement as an Assistant Therapist in Clinical trials of Psilocybin Therapy for the treatment of Anorexia Nervosa.

As an Integrative Counsellor, Collette takes into consideration all aspects of the total human experience so as to meet each client where they are at in each moment, allowing for the flexibility to discover an approach which can resonate for each individual client personally & can change & adapt over sessions as required.

Working integratively, Collette draws upon a psychodynamic understanding of human psychological development & relational patterns, a humanistic approach of meeting the person as they are in the present moment of each counselling session & may also tap into Transpersonal methods of using dreams, guided imagery, creative expression & grounding techniques to support the client to tap in to their own depths of intuition, inner guidance and wisdom. Grounded in the person-centred approach, Collette is guided very much by the client & which direction they wish to move in, at what level they wish to explore and at what pace. All is welcome and supported in the space.

With a background as a Mental Health Nurse specialising in Eating Disorders, Collette has plenty of experience in sitting with and calmly holding a range of challenging emotions and thought patterns. Collette understands what incredible courage it takes to share and work through these challenging experiences & is skilled in creating an optimal environment for supporting clients to feel confident that all of who they are and their experiences are welcome and will be held & gently reflected back with the utmost care and respect. It is a sacred space for the client to be met fully, focusing on whatever aspects of themselves & their struggles or development which feels most important to them.
