Damian Mitchelmore
Damian Mitchelmore is an integrative therapist who blends person-centred and solution-focused approaches to create a warm, practical, and empowering therapeutic experience. His model is grounded in the belief that every individual is unique, and that meaningful change happens when therapy is tailored to the whole person – their thoughts, emotions, relationships, history, and values. Damian is particularly passionate about supporting people during challenging times. He has an interest in working with people experiencing anxiety and depression; grief and loss; as well as issues with body image and disordered eating. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating change, he works alongside you to build resilience, rediscover hope, and create positive momentum. His aim is not to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your own abilities and resources, empowering you to grow and thrive.
With over 25 years’ experience as a teacher, headteacher, and professional coach, Damian brings a deep understanding of people, relationships, and change. His professional journey has been rooted in supporting others to discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and move forward with confidence. At the heart of Damian’s work is a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for growth. He aims to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Drawing on person-centred principles, Damian prioritises empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, ensuring that therapy moves at your pace.
Damian is registered with the BACP and is currently working towards a Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre. He supports clients online and in person through his work with NHS clients in Lambeth.
